Pet Stain Carpet Cleaning

Pet stain carpet cleaning can be a very annoying task for any pet owner, especially if you don’t know a few significant facts about how to remove them. First thing to know is that there are two types of situations that need to be considered differently. You will have to use a specific solution when the stains are fresh and a different strategy when the stains are older.

For recent pet stain carpet cleaning, you will need paper towels or cloth and white vinegar. Once you clean up the urine, use the towels to absorb the moisture that now makes a sponge out of your carpet. For better absorption, you should place some objects on the towels. The next thing to do is to wash the stain with water mixed with white vinegar and let the carpet dry.

Much more difficult to deal with is old pet stains or stains that are invisible. This will require more time and more effort from your side. Once you locate all the stains on the carpet (you can use a black light to do so as you will surely miss some spots otherwise), you need to repeatedly clean the carpet with various solutions. First use neutral detergent with water and brush the carpet, then place a towel on the spots to absorb the moisture. Then use white vinegar in combination with water (as this is efficient to also eliminate the unwanted smells) and again place a dry towel on the stains. Go again with detergent and water, brush the carpet and then use the towel. Once this process is completed all that remains to be done is to use clean water to rinse the carpet. This will be the last time you will have to use a towel to absorb the water from your carpet.

These simple processes should work for more recent or older stains. However, there are some cases when the old stains affect the carpet more severely or the affected area is too large. In this situation it is better to get a professional carpet cleaner to take care of it for you.
