Remove Pet Stains With Carpet Cleaning

Most households in the United States are carpeted. This is because installing a carpet cost less than wooden floors. Carpets are very child friendly as well and it has a more comfortable feel to it. If you want to change your carpets, you can easily do so as well.

Carpets, however, are more difficult to clean. If your house is carpeted, make sure that people are really cautious so that it does not get stained. Moreover, pets should not be running around the house because some of your furry friends might leave their fur stuck in the carpet or worse, they might stain your carpet with their droppings.

Pet stains are such big culprits to the cleanliness of your floor. Removing pet stains from the carpet can be quite a challenge. To add insult to injury, pet stain’s odor can be very difficult to eliminate. Thankfully, there are various ways that are available now to remove pet stains from a carpet by using simple stuff that you can find at home.

First, you must know that you should never attempt to deep scrub your carpet. Second, be definite that you remove the stain once you see it. The longer the stain stays there, the more difficult it will be for you to eliminate it. This will actually drive the stain deep into your carpet and will make it harder to remove. First of all you take out the bulk of the poop before starting the stain removal process. Make sure that you wear rubber gloves so your hands don’t get dirty and use a dust pan to remove the bulk.

Next, use a laundry stain remover. If your carpet is colored, make sure that the stain remover is a color friendly one so that your carpet does not get damaged. Use an old piece of cloth to lightly scrub the stain from the carpet and avoid smearing the stain so that it does not affect a larger area. After doing this; use a paper towel to absorb the wet spots on the carpet.

By this time, the stain would have vanished there but the foul odor is left behind. The best way to get rid of that smell is to use a mixture of 50% white vinegar and 50% water and pour it over the area where there was a stain. After this, take an ample amount of baking soda and sprinkle it over the affected area. Once the area is dry; use a vacuum to remove the baking soda. Your carpet will smell and look like nothing ever happened in no time.

Follow these easy steps and you can remove pet stains with carpet cleaning to get a spotless home!

What to do when a Carpet Cleaning Job Goes Wrong

If you have your carpets cleaned at least once a year like you are suposed to then chances are over the next 50 or so years you will come across a carpet cleaner that does not do a good job or that misses a section. Mistakes do happen. When I was cleaning I always did my best and had the least amount of call back requests out of any other cleaner in the history of the company. The point here is I still had a few call backs. It was mostly because a grease spot or two came back. This will happen. When ever oil or grease is on the carpet the spot may not come clean right away or ever for that matter.

This is beside the point. If you have an issue with your cleaner or if you feel they did not do a good job the first thing to do is not freak out. If you are nice you will get so much more out of the company. The first thing to do is detail what was misses or what you did not like about the cleaning. You should not ever expect to get your money back right away. Carpet cleaners are all too keen on people trying to take advantage of them and there are a ton of people out there who try and get a free cleaning. I know because I’ve been there. Only once you have a list of what was missed or what you did not like should you give the company a call. Remember to be very nice. Try and say something nice about the cleaner first. If they were prompt of curtious then say so first, then go into the room they missed or the job done. Say you understand that spots can come back. One thing to do if you did not like the cleaner is to ask for a manager to come out and check out the carpets themselves. This works out good because the man in charge gets to see for him or her self the job done. Most often they are the ones with the most experience and the majority of the time do the second cleaning.

Remember asking for your money back right away is not a good way to go. Even with a gurantee the company will insist on getting a second chance to clean your carpets and go out to inspect them. This is because many people do try and get a free cleaning. I will post a few stories sometime on this blog about some of mine so come back and check it out.

Dying Carpet When and When not to.

When it comes to dying your carpet there are definetly a few things you should know and consider. In most instances most people use carpet dyers for only spot treatments. Lets say you have a bleach spot or a urine stain in the middle of your carpet. Some people tend to remove the ruined carpet but in these kinds of instances you can often get it dyed for a cheaper cost and not have that unsightly seem show.

When you come across carpet that has a ton of spots and stains you may think the carpet needs replaced but that is not always the case. If the carpet fibers are in good condition you should consider dying the carpet as an alternative. The cost will be a third of what it is for new carpet and they will look great. When you do dye your carpet you need to really consider how well the carpet is. If it is worn then dying is not an option.

Another thing to watch out for is your carpet needs to be cleaned very well before the dye is applied. If it is not then the dye may not fully take. Cleaning the carpets needs to be added into the price.

While were on the subject of cleaning carpets. Another item to watch out for is cleaning your carpets after you have them dyed. Most of the time the dye will be undetecatable for several years after the carpet dying is done. In most cases you can not have your carpets cleaned more then once a year. If you have heavy traffic and need them cleaned more then once a year then carpet dying may not be right for you.

Cleaning chemicals can also have a negative side effect. Be sure and ask the carpet dyer about any special cleaning instructions.
